AGFA SYNCHROBOX
medium format 6x9 (120)
The Agfa Synchro-box was made by Agfa Camera Werk in Munich, Germany, during the 1950s. It can be enhanced with an Agfa flash gun.
The camera has a 105mm meniscus lens with fixed focus. The ever-ready shutter is a simple sliding disc, and can be set to either "instantaneous exposure" (appr. 1/30) or "time exposure" (= bulb). Aperture can be set to "normal" (f11) for sunny outdoor pictures or "small" (f22?) for bright summer sun. A third setting, called "filter" (f11 + internal yellow filter), is recommended for cloud effects in bright sun.
Unfortunately, this particular Synchrobox has a very soft lens. There are no focusing options, so it's a true point-and-shoot. However, with a little photoshop magic the images can be made to look pleasent. And it's really fun (and simple!) to use.
